Clothing Canopy was born out of a personal struggle faced by our founder, Julia Hergenrother, back in 2020. As a junior in college and standing at 5'8", Julia encountered a frustrating issue with her favorite dresses — they would shrink after washing and drying. Mini dresses that were already short on her became even more uncomfortable, and she realized she couldn’t afford to lose any more length. Determined to fix the problem, Julia spent hours experimenting with different techniques to restore her dresses to their original size, including soaking them in a conditioner and water mixture, followed by stretching the fabric with gravity and weights.
This experience made Julia realize that there was a significant gap in the market: a solution that could safely de-wrinkle clothes while preserving their length over time. Her vision was clear — to create a product that would not only fix the shrinkage problem but also ensure that the integrity of clothing remained flawless, just as it was the day it was purchased.
After months of research and innovation, Julia developed the Clothing Canopy — a compact, lightweight, and environmentally friendly frame designed to prevent shrinkage, preserve the fit, and de-wrinkle your clothes.
